There are so many different Aboriginal people here in the city living their lives, raising their kids, going to their jobs –
but sometimes they get together, and wonderful things happen –
absolutely beautiful, cultural things like pow wows or cultural ceremonies or even solidarity marches.
That community, that coming together and supporting one another, I bet that’s what it was like before colonization.
There is less and less in a society that throws so much away and replaces the old with blah blah sameness…this will become the new culture, the new norm, and subsequently what will become our traditional culture.
